Test Technician
Location: Statesville, NC

Reports To: Test Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Technician to join our Core Engineering team in Statesville, NC. This role is responsible for building, assembling, and maintaining specialized test equipment, and for executing detailed performance tests on hydraulic pumps and components. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, precise, and comfortable working hands-on with both machinery and technical data.
Key Responsibilities

Build, assemble, and maintain test equipment and fixtures using mechanical drawings, solid models, and verbal instructions.

Fabricate components using machine tools to cut, drill, or shape raw materials in accordance with design specifications.

Install, connect, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, ensuring safety and accuracy in setup and operation.

Conduct detailed engineering tests following established procedures, capturing and recording relevant data throughout the process.

Analyze test data and work with engineering teams to draw conclusions, identify issues, and recommend improvements.

Track and report project progress clearly and accurately using Excel, Word, and internal reporting tools.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including validation, verification, and pilot programs to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.

Support the development and refinement of testing best practices within the engineering department.

Perform additional related duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related discipline) preferred.

Previous experience in a technical, mechanical, or testing role strongly desired (e.g., test technician, maintenance tech, machinist, or lab technician).

Fabrication and machine tool experience a significant plus.
Skills & Competencies

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and solid models.

Demonstrated experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems assembly, operation, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with machine tools, manufacturing machinery, and testing systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; capable of entering, tracking, and analyzing test data.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
