Alternating Shift Schedule, All shifts depending on scope of work. 

Perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in the installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling and other low voltage cabling systems.  Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials.
 

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Install and service low-voltage systems, including Category 3–6 and fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, and related equipment.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cabling infrastructure as needed.

  • Perform system upgrades and additions to enhance functionality.

  • Coordinate with team members to complete projects and work orders efficiently.

  • Communicate work status, issues, and safety concerns with management to ensure compliance and proper decision-making.

  • Complete required documentation accurately (time reports, work orders, billing, client SLAs, etc.).

  • Request and maintain necessary tools, materials, and supplies to ensure project readiness.

  • Respond to emergency service calls during or after hours to resolve client issues promptly.

  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to job sites as needed.

  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workshops to stay updated on procedures and standards.

  • Meet performance goals and KPIs set by leadership.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience Requirement

  • Associate degree or technical certification in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing and servicing low-voltage cable systems (Category 3–6, fiber optic, etc.).

  • Skilled in installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage and fiber optic cables (twisted pair, coax, tray cable, single/multi-mode fiber, etc.).

  • Preferred: Industry certifications such as BICSI, Panduit, Commscope, Siemens, Corning, Leviton, Ortronics, AV, or Fiber Optic systems.

  • Knowledge of telecom, data, security, and wireless cabling infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and NEC standards.

  • (If applicable) Healthcare certifications such as infection control, safety, or bloodborne pathogens.

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Reliable and self-motivated with a track record of punctuality and task completion.

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
