Job Title: Quality Mechanical Inspector I
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Summary:
The Quality Mechanical Inspector I is responsible for performing detailed and accurate mechanical inspections such as First Article Inspections (FAI), Gage R&R, OQ, PQ, and IQ inspections according to drawing and customer requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency with a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
Candidates must have experience using CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), optical measuring systems, and traditional measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. The ideal candidate will also be capable of performing visual inspections to established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform dimensional and visual inspections of products using CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.

Document inspection results accurately in accordance with TechNH’s inspection procedures.

Write and execute basic CMM programs for measuring parts in support of FAI, CPK, PQ, OQ, and IQ inspections.

Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and Gage R&R studies.

Maintain familiarity with standardized CMM fixturing based on part geometry.

Interpret ballooned engineering drawings and apply basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.

Maintain an organized library of CMM and OGP programs, including setup instructions and documentation.
Experience & Skills Required:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, inspection reports, and quality documentation.

Basic CMM programming experience required, preferably with Hexagon PC-DMIS software.

Hands-on experience with optical comparators, tool micrometers, pin gauges, and other precision tools.

Solid understanding of GD&T measurement methods.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Able to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and perform work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical inspection.

Minimum 1 year of hands-on CMM experience.

Ability to create basic programs on CMM and OGP systems.

Strong reporting, documentation, and presentation skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, shift supervisors, and machine technicians.

Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
