Position Summary

The Lock Box Extractor / Machine Operator is responsible for performing routine operational and administrative duties to support payment processing functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow defined procedures, and comfort working in a fast-paced, production-based environment. Candidates must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for an entire shift. Successful performance on both a sorting test and data entry test is required.


Essential Job Duties

  • Execute daily processing tasks within established procedures and performance parameters.

  • Prepare, record, and organize documentation related to payment processing and lockbox operations.

  • Administer defined procedures for data entry, image capture, and sorting functions.

  • Perform basic analysis, reporting, and verification of transactions for accuracy.

  • Assist in reviewing and ensuring documentation meets internal and regulatory standards.

  • Operate and maintain transport machines, performing simple scheduled or unscheduled maintenance when required.

  • Handle a high volume of monetary transactions and ensure all data is entered accurately.

  • Provide courteous and professional service in response to routine billing inquiries, service requests, or discrepancies.

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, government regulations, and operational controls.

  • Complete work by following clearly defined procedures and meeting daily production goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, twist, bend, and squat for extended periods (8 hours).

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Ability to operate transport machines and perform repetitive motions.

  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for data entry tasks.


Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred.

  • 0–1 year of relevant office, data entry, or operations experience.

Technical & Functional Skills:

  • Proficient in 10-Key data entry with high speed and accuracy.

  • Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and applications.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and banking procedures.

  • Familiarity with payment delivery channels such as Lockbox, ACH, wires, and OLDS.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload to meet strict deadlines.

  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and open to new ideas in a changing environment.

  • Proven attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
