Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Job Location: Yankton

Pay Rate: Dependent upon experience

The manufacturing engineering technician performs tests and experiments on standard products as well as engineering samples and R&D items. Also works with production test and manufacturing equipment to help optimize throughput, yield and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tests on production products and experiments for product development.
  • Use of various test equipment: Multi-meters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, calipers, environmental test systems, etc.
  • Perform tests, experiments, and repair on product to help optimize production test and manufacturing equipment.
  • Tests procedures and documentation for validity and assists updating documentation when needed.
  • Assists in tracking production down time and other issues involving production test equipment. Suggests methods for improvement including preventative maintenance schedules as well as other changes.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • All other assigned duties.

Supervises: None.

Desired Qualifications and skills:

  • Associate's degree in electrical or electronics engineering with more than 3 years of applicable experience.
  • Knowledge about Oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and scientific method a plus.
  • Familiarity with multiple software applications such as Microsoft Office is required.
  • Good documentation skills and recording ability. Precise and ability to exactly follow instructions necessary.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized and reliable.
  • Must be able to work on ITAR data without a license
