Environmental Cleaning Specialist – Research & Engineering
Summary:
The Environmental Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in support of Research & Engineering operations. This role involves industrial cleaning of laboratories, cleanroom assembly areas, production spaces, and other controlled environments. The position requires safe handling of chemical solutions and solvents, adherence to safety protocols, and consistent execution of cleaning procedures to support high-quality research and product development activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and deep cleaning of research laboratories, cleanrooms, engineering assembly areas, and support facilities.

Mix and prepare chemical cleaning solutions and solvents in accordance with established safety and environmental procedures.

Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, floors, and high-touch areas to maintain compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards.

Dispose of waste and chemical materials in alignment with regulatory and company guidelines.

Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.

Follow detailed cleaning schedules, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, to ensure proper upkeep of specialized environments.

Document cleaning activities per established protocols and maintain records for audits or inspections.

Work closely with Research & Engineering staff to support unique cleaning needs in sensitive environments.

Comply with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout an 8-hour workday.

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.

Frequent use of cleaning tools, equipment, and chemical handling.
Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).

2nd shift or as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.

Experience working in laboratory, cleanroom, or manufacturing environments is a plus.

Basic knowledge of chemical safety and handling procedures.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
