Position Summary:
The Electrical Technician at Inteplast is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive tasks for all electrical systems, control panels, automation equipment, and associated infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on electrical systems, including motors (AC & DC), starters, relays, circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic failures: wiring, control circuits, PLCs, HMI, sensors, heater bands, thermocouples
- Repair and replace electrical components and assemblies, including drive controllers, circuit boards, wiring, and control panels.
- Install electrical equipment, run conduit, pull wire, mount and wire panels, install safety relays, and other controls.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance when electrical mechanical coordination is required
- Participate in setup/modifications of PLC and HMI programs as needed for process control/automation changes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, preventive maintenance schedules, parts used, and downtime events—usually via CMMS or equivalent.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures: lockout/tagout, PPE, electrical safety codes, etc.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational schooling in electrical, electronics, or industrial maintenance preferred
- 2-5 years (or more, depending on level) of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring practices, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable using standard electrical test equipment (multimeter, amprobe, etc.).
- Good problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
