Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Glendale, AZ – Onsite only (no remote or hybrid option)

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the finance team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls to safeguard company assets. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of accounting principles, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates both initiative and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned areas, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement reviews.

  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving reconciling items.

  • Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper accounting for business activities.

  • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.

  • Research technical accounting issues and apply relevant standards as needed.

  • Collaborate with A/R and A/P teams to ensure account balances are accurate.

  • Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.

  • Assist with SOX procedures, internal controls, and compliance activities.

  • Support interim and year-end audits by coordinating with auditors and providing required documentation.

  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and deliver insights to management.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of accounting experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to enhance and improve existing accounting policies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build effective reports, analysis, and presentations.

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification preferred.

  • Combination of public and industry accounting experience.

  • Big 4 background is a plus.

  • Aviation industry experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems; Quantum experience a plus.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Office-based position requiring prolonged computer use.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs unassisted.

  • Standard administrative office setting.
