Forklift Operator – Warehouse Associate

Location: Memphis, TN (US Foods)
Schedule:

  • Mid-shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

  • Night-shift: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – Completion
    Contract Length: 90 days or more (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)


Job Responsibilities

  • Transport merchandise from receiving dock or reserve slots to designated warehouse locations.

  • Maintain accurate records of quantities, pack sizes, and product descriptions.

  • Stack cases and rotate merchandise according to company standards.

  • Slot material in proper storage areas.

  • Pull materials to deliver to production lines.

  • Move finished products from production to storage areas.

  • Pull finished products from storage and load them onto trailers.

  • Unload materials from trailers.

  • Utilize warehouse technology (e.g., RF scanner, voice-directed systems) to select products.

  • Perform system-driven let-downs and maintain organized pallets at the dock.


Physical Requirements

  • Stand/walk for up to 10 hours per shift.

  • Lift objects weighing 20–80 lbs. regularly and occasionally over 90 lbs.

  • Perform physical activities including twisting, bending, carrying, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and stooping.

  • Work in varied temperature environments:

    • Freezer: –10 F to 0 F

    • Cooler: 28–45 F

    • Dry storage: Room temperature


Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of stand-up and reach forklift experience (sit-down forklifts do not count).

    • Previous experience in food distribution/warehousing.

    • Knowledge of food handling and importance of working in date sequence.

  • Must be able to meet 80% minimum performance expectations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 3 years of forklift/reach truck experience.

  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and warehouse operations.

  • Ability to work independently using discretion/judgment.

  • Team-oriented with strong drive, motivation, and customer service focus.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Additional Information

  • Onsite Position (Memphis US Foods).

  • Training Provided: 1 week.

  • Interview Process: In-person, 1 interview with facility tour included.

  • Timesheet System: Fieldglass (Time In/Out, department provides timesheets).

  • Union Representation: None.
