Location: Initially based in Houston, TX for approximately 2-3 months. The position will transition to Sugar Land, TX thereafter.


Job Title Electrical Designer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated an Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application of the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Perform sizing of wire, conduit, and cable tray.
Perform voltage drop calculations.
Create cable tray / conduit routing layouts, and power plans.
Perform fill calculation of cable tray and conduit.
Create lighting, grounding, and heat tracing layouts and plans.
Perform sizing of overcurrent protection for lighting and low voltage MCCs.
Create MCC, Panel board, and heat tracing schedules.
Develop 480V one line diagrams and motor control schematics.
Perform lighting level calculations.
Create electrical bulk material schedule and MTO.
Create Substation designs, layouts, and elevation plans.
Create transformers yard and bust duct layouts.
Integrate electrical equipment layouts and substation into the overall plot plan and 3D model.
Create electrical installation details from vendor equipment drawings and documentation.
Attend substation fabrication shops, inspect/ verify wiring methods and equipment assembly according to approved drawings and specifications.
Attend site surveys of customers' facilities in preparation of layout and site installation drawings, and/or As-Built drawings.
DRAFTING
Create 2D electrical detail drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and AVEVA/E3D.
Create To Scale Substation Layouts and elevation drawings using AutoCAD.
Integrate substation layouts into the overall plot plan and 3D model.
Integrate electrical equipment layouts into the overall plot plan and 3D model.
Integrate cable tray layouts and power plans into the overall plot plan and 3D model.
Integrate lighting, grounding, and lightning protection into the into the overall plot plan and 3D model.
Create 2D installation details and sections.
Working experience of 2D detail drawings and drafting standards to complete IFD (Issued for Design), and IFC (Issued for Construction), and As-built drawing packages in accordance with company standard drawing format and procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in engineering or computer Aided Drafting technology or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of 10 years electrical design and drafting experience is required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, NavisWorks, AVEVA/E3D is required.
Experience in design of prefabricated substation and modular equipment is preferred.
Experience in an EPC environment is a Plus.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
