Job Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for the setup and operation of equipment that blends, mixes, packages, or transports the liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. Safety is the top priority, ensuring the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up and start all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and insert them into machinery.
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
- Operate machinery to mix, discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Examine materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
- Take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation and instructions, if necessary.
- Refer issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition.
- Perform all required machine cleaning.
- Complete and maintain all required computer inputs.
- Ensure data integrity.
- Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports, and procedures.
- Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Demonstrate and meet qualifications on blending, packaging, weighing operations, and forklift operation.
- Demonstrate teamwork in all phases of operation.
- Follow all rules, laws, and procedures related to HS&E, ISO, and other regulations.
- Perform other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and product recipes/materials.
- Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to apply these skills to weights, measures of volume, and distance.
- Effective communication skills in writing and verbally in English.
- Competency in computer and PC software, including email, internet, and MS Office.
- Manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Problem-solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.
Required Education & Experience
- US High School diploma, GED equivalency, or equivalent experience.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial/manufacturing experience.

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and color vision.

- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
- Noise level ranges from normal office noise levels to loud noise.
- Mandatory PPE required for 8 to 12 hours per shift, including hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, and specific gloves for specific tasks.
