Job Title: Fabrication Employee (Floater – Machine Operator/Maintenance Helper)
Pay: $17-$18
Position Overview:
We are seeking a flexible and dependable Fabrication Employee to join our team. This is a floater position , meaning the employee will move between machine operation and maintenance support based on daily needs. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, quality-minded, and comfortable switching job roles to ensure production goals are met.
Schedule:
1st Shift – Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (with possible overtime).
Key Responsibilities:

Operate shot peen and related machines, learning their controls, functions, and processes.

Perform part handling tasks, including unpacking jobs for processing and packing finished work for shipping.

Achieve forklift certification and safely operate forklifts to move materials and parts.

Learn to use gauges, strips, and analysis tools to verify that part processing meets customer requirements.

Assist in basic maintenance tasks, including checking fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other equipment components.

Perform simple repairs (tightening, replacing minor parts, fixing leaks) and assist maintenance technicians with ordering and inspections.

Read and follow shop floor paperwork and maintain accurate records to meet customer specifications.

Support overall shop efficiency by being willing to step into production or maintenance tasks as needed.
PPE Required:
Safety glasses, proper work clothing, steel/composite toe shoes, hearing protection, and work gloves.
Qualifications:

Prior manufacturing, fabrication, or machine operation experience preferred (but willing to train).

Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and measuring devices.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Dependable, safety-focused, and flexible in switching between job roles.
