Position Overview
Drive continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase throughput. This role focuses on evaluating and refining manufacturing processes, implementing best practices, and collaborating across engineering, operations, and quality teams to support the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead investigations and root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues and improve production efficiency.

Use data trends and emerging technologies to establish repeatable, sustainable processes and advance continuous improvement.

Analyze workflow, materials movement, and functional tasks to assess and improve overall operational effectiveness.

Partner with engineering and operations to conduct capability studies, statistical analyses, and FMEAs, and to qualify equipment, materials, and tooling for long-term process stability.

Work with design engineering to review product and tooling concepts, ensuring they support efficient manufacturing methods.

Promote Lean, Six Sigma, and other proven engineering practices to achieve world-class manufacturing performance.

Identify and prioritize opportunities for equipment, tooling, and process upgrades to eliminate recurring issues.

Standardize and document procedures to improve predictability and efficiency across manufacturing activities.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and other key departments.

Introduce and maintain process control techniques, collaborating with Quality to monitor and test critical parameters.

Design and refine manufacturing processes for product changes and new product introductions, including required fixtures and tooling, with a focus on zero defects and cost control.

Produce 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of material, process sheets, and project timelines.

Evaluate and implement engineering changes, including necessary tooling modifications and detailed tool designs.

Lead projects by setting clear expectations, coordinating toolmakers and CNC programmers, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Ensure compliance with ISO standards and support injection molding operations with fixtures, gauges, and end-of-arm tooling.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing engineering environment.

Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing, tooling, assembly, and fabrication processes.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools such as KeyCreator, SolidWorks, or Creo.

Experience with injection molding, CNC machining, EDM, rapid prototyping, automation, robotics, and 3D printing.

Familiarity with the design of basic assembly equipment and fixtures.

Demonstrated expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and formal problem-solving methods.

Skilled in capital appropriation, cost analysis, and project management.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with experience facilitating teams and managing vendor and customer relationships.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Project, Access, Outlook).

Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving, and change-management capabilities.
