Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer) – Land Development

Overview
Our client, a well-established civil engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Practice Leader / Senior Project Manager to lead their growing Land Development practice. This role combines technical project management, client relationship leadership, and business development. The right candidate will have a strong background in land development, proven project management experience, and the ability to guide a team while driving practice growth.
Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, and execution of land development projects, including grading, drainage, roadway, and utility design.

Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and resources to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

Serve as the primary client contact, providing strategic guidance and building long-term partnerships.

Mentor, coach, and develop a team of engineers, promoting collaboration and technical excellence.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and environmental standards.

Oversee design and documentation using Civil 3D, GIS, and related engineering tools.

Contribute to business development through proposals, client presentations, and project pursuits.

Drive practice growth through financial management, strategic planning, and adoption of industry best practices.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required; advanced degree (Master's or MBA) preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with licensure in Arizona.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a strong focus on land development.

Proven success as a Project Manager, overseeing technical teams and complex projects.

Deep technical expertise in civil engineering design, construction methods, and local regulations.

Strong client relationship management skills, with a history of repeat business and successful project delivery.

Experience in business development and proposal leadership.

Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
