Salary: $18 to $25 an hour based on experience
Job description
- Lead, train, and assist in managing shipping team members.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to meet department goals.
- Oversee packing, labeling, and documentation of shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure timely and accurate shipping of all orders and resolve discrepancies related to shipping and inventory.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure stock accuracy.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, OSHA) and assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular safety checks and training sessions and assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommend and implement improvements.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of shipping software and logistics systems.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery (certification may be required).
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a preemployment screening
