Maintenance Technician – Fabrication Shop

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operations of our fabrication facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing shop equipment, maintaining facility systems, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment (e.g., bench grinders, saws, and welding support equipment).
  • Oversee facility systems to ensure safe operation of paint booths, HVAC, lighting, doors, plumbing, and electrical outlets.
  • Conduct and document equipment inspections and facility safety audits.
  • Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule; provide clear written reports to management.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and company assets.
  • Service company vehicles; track inspection/tag dates.
  • Operate non-CDL company trucks and trailers when needed.
  • Support workplace safety through inspections, reporting, and participation in safety initiatives.

Schedule

  • 6a-4:30p  Monday - Thursday.
  • 40 hours per week (four 10-hour shifts).
  • Overtime may be required on Fridays as needed

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in an industrial or fabrication maintenance role.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must supply basic tools required for the role.
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL not required).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment safely.
  • Visual acuity to read blueprints, measure parts, and inspect quality.
  • Tolerance for varying shop conditions (temperature, dust, noise).
  • Ability to wear and work in required PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, welding hood).
