Job Summary: This role supports the repair station by processing bearings for shipment daily and performing other duties as assigned. This is a first shift position.
Reports to: Production Control Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compare outgoing items to paperwork to ensure part numbers and serial numbers match paperwork
- Inspect all boxes and parts for damage.
- Tracks outgoing shipment information in spreadsheets.
- Packages repaired bearing components for shipment to customers.
- Processes all reject for shipment back to customers.
- Ships bearings to customers using customer predefined shipping information.
- Ships to both international and domestic customers using FEDEX, UNITED PARCEL, and DHL websites.
- Manages and procures boxes and shipping supplies using Ariba to maintain production support.
- Schedules pick up services with different shipping companies.
- Maintains clean and orderly dock area.
- Maintains files of shipping records.
- Stores unused pallets and boxes in defined areas
- Operates forklift and lift carts
- Follows all plant safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to details
- Capable of using Microsoft Word and Excel and other ERP systems as required
- Ability to read/write/speak English
- Ability to work independently in a high stress environment
Special Requirements:
- Candidates must pass a near vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a Hazardous Materials Certification
- Candidate must be able to use calipers and micrometers to measure dimensions as required
Education Requirements: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED
Physical Demands: Able to comfortably manipulate up to 90lbs without assistance on a daily basis. Able to move/lift up to 175lbs with the use of a pallet jack, workstation crane, and lift cart on a regular basis.
Working Conditions: Works in a controlled climate. Occasional outdoor work required. Small amounts of machine noise. Works around hazardous chemicals. PPE required.
