We are seeking an HR Support Specialist to join the team 100% onsite in Newton, NC. This role supports the supervisor in the planning, implementation, administration, and budgeting of a wide range of HR functions, including employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, organizational development, affirmative action, and health & safety services.
This position operates on a Monday–Friday schedule (day shift), though up to twice per week project needs may require 2nd shift coverage (approx. 11 AM/12 noon – 9 PM). Flexibility to adjust to project-based second shift assignments is required.
Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and operational support across HR functions including employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and organizational development.

Assist with equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and health and safety program administration.

Support HR supervisor in planning, budgeting, and implementing HR-related initiatives.

Prepare and maintain HR reports, records, and documentation.

Resolve moderately complex HR issues and escalate as appropriate.

Work collaboratively with employees and management to support company HR policies and practices.

Handle assignments independently with judgment, while seeking guidance on new or complex issues.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.

Experience: Up to 3 years of HR-related experience (entry-level HR generalist, HR assistant, or coordinator).

Solid understanding of HR processes and compliance practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Flexibility to support project-based evening shift work when required.
