Contract Length: 1 year (potential for temp-to-hire)
The Credit Coordinator will support and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 customers. This role focuses on collections, credit assessment, and resolution of accounts receivable issues, working closely with both customers and sales teams to remove roadblocks, ensure timely collections, and provide root cause resolution.
- Monitor customer terms and compliance, ensuring timely collections and resolving skips, short pays, credit memos, and unapplied cash.
- Place and release accounts from credit hold in accordance with company policy.
- Negotiate and implement amicable payment plans for past-due accounts.
- Work directly with customers and sales representatives to resolve account issues.
- Assist the Credit Manager with credit risk assessment, credit approvals, and extensions of credit limits.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
- Prepare and maintain accurate collection records and reporting.
- Coordinate escalations and documentation for third-party collections and recommend accounts for write-off.
- Partner with offshore resources to drive improvements on key metrics.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of Credit/Collections experience in Transportation or Logistics (food industry a plus).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas).
- ERP systems experience required (Turvo/Nvision strongly preferred).
- Ability to work across multiple customer payment systems.
- Soft Skills: Self-directed, technically savvy, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal oversight. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
