Job title: Maintenance Technician
Shift: 1 st (Monday through Friday 6:45 am to 3:15 pm) (Every other weekend off unless scheduled)
Location: Ravenna, OH
Salary: $25-$27
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our client's 1st shift team. In this role, you will support the operation and reliability of our manufacturing equipment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing mechanical and electrical repairs. You'll play a vital role in keeping production running efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
Responsibility:
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mixing and extrusion machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation schematics and diagrams.
- Perform a variety of mechanical repairs on equipment such as conveyors, pumps, valves, and drives.
- Complete basic electrical installations and repairs.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to learn complex manufacturing systems.
- Provide on-call manufacturing support during after-hours or weekends when needed.
- Work overtime as scheduled or required.
- Adhere to all safety policies including lockout/tagout and permit-to-work procedures.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Complete Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks as scheduled.
- Identify and consult with Maintenance Lead regarding critical spare parts for new or modified equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Background in construction-related fields (e.g., concrete, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- 5 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- 1–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant required.
- Experience coordinating with external service providers for specialized equipment maintenance and repair.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical/electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks effectively.
- Willingness to communicate problems and solutions with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Ability to operate tow motors and pallet jack lifts.
- Physical ability to transport tools and materials throughout the plant and warehouse.
- Comfortable accessing all areas of the plant, including rooftops and elevated platforms.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, confined spaces, heights).
- Familiarity with workplace technology, including inventory and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of rotating machines (e.g., blowers), stationary machines (e.g., hoppers), and electric machines (e.g., motors).
- Understanding of applicable regulations (OSHA, NFPA, EPA).
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screen
