Position Summary

The Cutting Room Lead Person is responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily activities of the cutting room. This includes managing operators, packers, and quality control personnel to ensure that production targets are met efficiently and safely. The role serves as a liaison between the cutting room and other departments, facilitating smooth workflow and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Coordination: Oversee cutting room staff, including operators, packers, and quality control personnel, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

  • Workflow Management: Plan and organize work schedules to maintain an efficient workflow and meet production targets.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards by monitoring processes and implementing quality control measures.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of cutting equipment, coordinating with maintenance teams as necessary.

  • Training and Development: Provide training to new and existing staff on cutting techniques, safety protocols, and company procedures.

  • Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations within the cutting room, conducting regular inspections and addressing any hazards promptly.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement to ensure availability.

  • Communication: Act as a liaison between the cutting room and other departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in textile or meat processing industries.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in operating cutting equipment and understanding of production processes.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift up to 75 lbs,

Work Environment

The role is typically based in a manufacturing or processing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.
