Job title: 2nd shift Production Supervisor
Location: Avon, OH
Shift: 2nd (Monday through Friday from 230 pm to 11 pm training on 1st shift)
Salary $29 to $40 an hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our 2nd shift operations. This role is responsible for supervising a team of up to 10 employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production in alignment with company standards and goals. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and skilled at coaching and leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, and support a team of 7 production employees on the 2nd shift.
- Ensure daily production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
- Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Train new employees and cross-train team members to improve flexibility.
- Conduct shift meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety reminders.
- Enforce company policies and safety regulations; complete incident reports if necessary.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment issues before escalating to maintenance.
- Accurately document production data, shift reports, and employee performance.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to ensure smooth shift handoffs.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity and processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach and motivate a team.
- Working knowledge of production equipment, processes, and safety practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production demands.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and communication (e.g., MS Excel, production software).
- Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a preemployment screening
