Job Title: Member Services Representative – AACU Check and Item Processing (Contract Position)

Job Contract Details:

Job Purpose:

The Member Services Representative – Check and Item Processing (Contract) is responsible for performing daily operations related to check transactions, including processing, dispositioning, reconciling, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position plays a key role in supporting both members and internal departments, while upholding financial accuracy and service excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Reg CC and all applicable federal banking regulations by following established policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate and process return items with members, vendors, client banks, and financial institutions.

  • Assist internal departments with check resolution, member inquiries, and balancing of general ledger accounts.

  • Log, reconcile, and research transactions, executing necessary GL or account adjustments and returns.

  • Process stop payment requests and complete check batching procedures.

  • Perform daily balancing and branch closing activities.

  • Operate and troubleshoot Client and Catalyst software systems related to check processing.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure security of all account-related information.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of departmental needs.


Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Maintain high standards of data security and confidentiality at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer or member service.

  • Background in banking or credit union operations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong math and data analysis abilities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.

  • Reliable attendance and performance record.

  • Ability to pass all required pre-hire compliance checks for American Airlines and the Credit Union.
