Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Finishing Machine Associate (Level I) to support optical filter manufacturing operations for a cutting-edge production team in West Henrietta, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to launch or advance their career in precision manufacturing within a clean, high-tech, and fast-paced environment.
Working under the guidance of a Finishing Team Leader, the associate will execute a variety of glass processing tasks while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. Success in this role is measured by product quality, schedule adherence, and team productivity.
Shift:
A Shift:

  • Training: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • After training, employee will move to either:
    • 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (primary shift)
    • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (as needed based on production demands)
B Shift:
  • Training: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM (employees can start on B shift directly for training)
  • After training, B shift hours remain 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Pay:
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
B Shift includes a 10% shift differential


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various glass processing operations including:
    • Core Drilling
    • Dicing
    • Laser Marking
    • Unwaxing
    • Beveling (hand, semi-auto, and auto)
    • Cleaning and other support tasks related to glass shaping
  • Take precise physical and visual measurements using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Identify nonconforming products and place appropriate holds on defective work.
  • Escalate production delays or quality issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with company standards.
  • Follow all SOPs, safety guidelines, and work instructions accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet or exceed daily production and quality targets.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer proficiency and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to distinguish chromatic color variations.
  • Comfortable working in a team-based environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift light materials.
  • Must be eligible to work in an ITAR-registered facility.
  • Willingness to work any shift and overtime as needed to support production schedules.

Desired Traits (Preferred but Not Required):
  • Prior experience in glass substrate processing, cleaning, or optical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with subjective quality systems used in optical product inspection.
  • Background in a machine shop or experience operating precision dicing equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
