Position Overview

The Proposal Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring timely, compliant, and compelling responses to RFx requests and other client opportunities. This role partners with sales, engineering, legal, product, and other internal teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused proposals that align with Trimble's Asset Lifecycle Management solutions. The ideal candidate will be an experienced proposal professional with strong organizational, writing, and cross-functional leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full proposal lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and responses are compliant with customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, solution engineers, legal, product teams, etc.) to research, write, edit, format, and quality-check proposals and RFx responses.

  • Execute established proposal workflows and ensure adherence to company standards and branding.

  • Partner with proposal team manager, sales leaders, and SMEs to deliver persuasive, well-structured proposals on time.

  • Maintain and update proposal content repositories in Loopio, including functionality matrices, to optimize future responses.

  • Leverage Trimble-approved AI tools to streamline and enhance proposal development processes.

  • Review and refine proposal documents (resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate content) with SMEs to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Track and analyze proposal outcomes (win ratios, KPIs) to assess response effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Proposal Manager.

  • Proficiency with Loopio or similar proposal management software.

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Formal training and/or certification in industry-standard proposal management methodologies (APMP, Shipley, etc.).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent proposals.

  • Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce visually compelling and persuasive proposal content.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to provide constructive feedback to improve proposal quality.

  • Experience delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor's degree required.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience in government or public sector proposal development.

  • Background in the software and SaaS industry.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.

  • Experience working with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini).
