Job Title: Estimator / Project Manager

Salary: $95,000 – $105,000 annually

Summary

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to support quoting efforts and oversee projects from contract award through completion. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, generating new business opportunities, and managing budgets and schedules to ensure customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is an organized, motivated self-starter with experience in the construction industry and a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor field activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, including directing daily schedules and overtime as needed.

  • Produce and deliver quotes based on leads, technician follow-ups, and customer requests (including site visits when necessary).

  • Review project scope, budget, and site requirements to prepare complete and accurate estimates.

  • Coordinate with operations and field managers for labor, equipment, and material requirements.

  • Manage projects from planning through execution and completion, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.

  • Order necessary parts and components and oversee subcontractor requirements.

  • Conduct site visits/job walks to gather information and prepare estimates.

  • Develop value-engineering solutions to control costs while maintaining quality standards.

  • Troubleshoot project issues and implement preventative solutions.

  • Prepare bids, scopes of work, contracts, and cost reports.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with management and field teams to allocate resources and schedule equipment.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff.

  • Ensure team efficiency and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a lead estimator and project manager.

  • 10 years of experience with pipe fitting processes and 3 years of supervisory experience on job sites (preferred).

  • 5 years of office and field management or technical services experience.

  • Industrial construction/maintenance knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing (preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook required).

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in blueprint interpretation, material takeoffs, and estimating math.

  • Self-motivated, punctual, and adaptable with proven leadership ability.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Frequent bending, lifting, standing, and walking over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
