Position Summary
Calibration Technician II is a mid-level role requiring at least three (3) years of commercial calibration experience. Technicians at this level typically calibrate higher-level equipment across a minimum of four (4) disciplines, with expert-level competency in one (1) discipline (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, or Pressure). This position requires the ability to perform independent calibration work in a laboratory or at customer sites with limited or no supervision.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties

Perform calibration work independently with minimal supervision.

Conduct independent research and problem-solving as needed.
-
Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from management.

Identify and apply appropriate measurement techniques.
-
Maintain calibration standards.
-
Understand and apply measurement uncertainties.
-
Read and interpret laboratory scopes of accreditation.
-
Collaborate effectively with lab support staff.
-
Maintain working knowledge in at least four (4) calibration disciplines and expert-level competency in one (1).

Perform calibrations in both laboratory and customer on-site settings.
-
Fulfill all duties safely and in compliance with company policies and standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Travel requirement: up to 50%.
Primary Objectives
-
Perform calibration techniques with accuracy and efficiency, minimizing errors.
-
Develop leadership skills and assume responsibilities as a team lead.

Mentor and train junior-level technicians.
-
Progress toward Calibration Technician III, requiring competency in at least six (6) disciplines and expert-level competency in two (2).

Work toward obtaining ASQ/CCT or CMT certification.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Completion of assigned training via on-the-job instruction, online content, LMS, or classroom training.

Self-motivated with the ability to learn new calibration skills quickly.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record.
Education & Experience
-
Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or related field; OR 3 years of calibration experience/training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Three (3 ) years of commercial calibration experience.

Training or experience in electronics or machining.

Strong math skills (algebra, geometry, statistics).

Familiarity with hand tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Advanced organizational and time management skills.

Experience with PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics.

Experience working within ISO 17025 standards and knowledge of uncertainty contributions to the measurement process.
