Engineering technician support necessary to perform End-of-Line & Conformity of Product instrumentation, hardware support, and test execution activities per regulatory requirements while providing on-site test support for engineering personnel. This position supports regulatorily-required EOL/COP activities.
• Remove, disassemble, reassemble and replace vehicle mechanical systems using approved service procedures. Tag, store, and maintain inventory of take off parts.
• Prepare customer vehicle for lab certification testing. Responsibilities include but not limited to creating tracking tag, complete damage report, if DTC exist pulling codes, inspect for aftermarket parts, complete pretest evaluation, installing temporary test equipment (MPR cable, marmon flanges, fuel drain, etc.), removing drive shaft (if applicable), and installing high voltage break out box (if applicable).
• Using PT Diag to pull vehicle data and complete drain & fills
• Document all work performed in accordance with approved procedures.
• Communicate with various requestors to report vehicle status and obtain needed information.
• Preparing vehicle to original received state to return to customer
Primary Skills Required:
• High attention to keeping accurate records and information integrity.
• Experience with emissions test vehicles.
• Knowledgeable in emission control system operation on modern gasoline and diesel engines
• Knowledgeable in exhaust and evaporative emission test procedures
• Ability to reprogram vehicle electronic control modules, pull bus queries, check High Voltage PID (PT Diag, DET, intrepid, mycanic)
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Skilled in handling toxic and hazardous fuels, oils, coolants and other materials.
Pre-requisites prior to start:
• HV voltage training (orange badge)
• Safety training
• Motor truck training
