Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting. Duties consist of preparing samples, making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures. Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures. Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests. Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments. This is an entry-level position. Requires a high school education or equivalent.
Qualifications:
Prior experience is desired with examples of safe practices, chemical handling, and record keeping/reporting. Some chemistry courses are desired. Knowledge of Microsoft office software is desired. Rate will depend on experience and skills.
