Position Summary:
The Logistics/Warehouse Manager is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing all warehousing and distribution operations, including resource allocation and workload planning across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead excellence in receiving, warehousing, and distribution through effective process management, inventory control, and facility optimization.
• Oversee all aspects of warehouse staffing, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to storage, material handling, and shipping; advise leadership on legislative changes and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement protocols to maintain a secure warehouse environment; lead C-TPAT training initiatives.
• Apply Lean principles and APICS methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets; monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
• Oversee all modes of transportation; negotiate with providers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
• Champion workplace safety across all facilities; serve on the Safety Committee and facilitate safety instruction sessions.
• Maintain processes and documentation necessary for ISO certification.
• Direct just-in-time (JIT) procurement and the efficient distribution of goods to manufacturing sites.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all warehouse and distribution equipment.
• Manage dunnage and inventory to guarantee timely and accurate delivery to customers.
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in warehouse management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment utilizing Lean systems. (A combination of relevant education and at least 8 years of comparable experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.)
• Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience overseeing direct reports.
• Proven leadership managing multiple sites and supervisory teams.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Proficiency in SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and warehousing sanitation standards.
Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to build effective relationships across all organizational levels.
• High sense of urgency and ability to perform under pressure.
• Exceptional multitasking and prioritization capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
