Nonwoven Carding Machine Operator
Key Responsibilities
-
Operate, set up, and monitor nonwoven carding machines and slitting equipment.

Feed raw fibers and rolls into machines per specifications, ensuring accurate slitting of fabric to target widths.

Adjust machine parameters (tension, alignment, speed) to maintain efficiency and quality.

Inspect output for quality attributes including web consistency, weight, thickness, slitting precision, and overall integrity.

Conduct routine maintenance: clean machinery, replace rollers/blades, and resolve jams.

Record production metrics, machine performance, and issue logs accurately.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant work area.

Support start-ups, shutdowns, and line changeovers.

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
-
Previous machine operator experience preferably in nonwovens, textiles, carding, or slitting.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Team-oriented, adaptable to a fast-paced production environment.
Work Environment

Busy industrial setting in nonwoven fabric production.

Exposure to fibers, dust, and machinery (PPE required).

May require weekend or swing shifts depending on production demand.
