GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Supervisor/Environmental Systems Coordinator will oversee all daily operations related to equipment and facility upkeep, manage spare parts inventories, implement comprehensive Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Calibration Programs, and provide support for tooling maintenance as needed. Responsibilities also include managing environmental compliance aligned with ISO 14001 standards.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with various departments to manage both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Oversee daily facility and grounds maintenance, including janitorial services.
- Facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings and drive safety initiatives.
- Generate work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Administer a Computerized Preventive Maintenance System.
- Coordinate with Production Planning to schedule equipment downtime for preventive maintenance and calibration.
- Provide on-call support for high-priority issues during weekends and nights, including rotating maintenance schedules.
- Establish and maintain a spare parts numbering and inventory system.
- Execute and document preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure daily operational readiness of machinery.
- Enhance existing processes through continuous support and improvement.
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including scheduled vs. unscheduled work, PM compliance, budget performance, inventory turnover, machine downtime, and more.
- Provide ongoing support for all automated systems.
- Identify, implement, and manage new manufacturing technologies and equipment to boost plant productivity and justify costs.
- Develop and manage specialized production units (e.g., controlled environments, mechanical components, connection systems, and filtration units) to optimize labor, inventory, and downtime efficiency.
- Integrate innovative solutions with current methods to address production challenges economically, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Offer daily troubleshooting and technical support to Tooling, Production, Sales, and Quality teams on manufacturing issues.
- Maintain awareness and adherence to ISO 14001 standards per organizational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10 years in plastics processing or a bachelor's degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.
- Expertise in automation and support equipment, including robotics, control systems, and material handling (raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods).
- Strong capabilities in project management, budgeting, control, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in engineering and plastics processing, including primary equipment like molding machines and controls.
- Background in industrial engineering, with familiarity in Labor/Time Study, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Production Monitoring Systems.
- Experience with maintaining a controlled environment facility, including knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HVAC, and data collection systems.
- In-depth understanding of plastics processing, equipment, robotics, and auxiliary systems.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints, schematics, safety guidelines, and operational/maintenance manuals.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical abilities; proficient with PC software including MS Word, Excel, and project management tools.
- Demonstrated leadership to foster a team-oriented environment focused on quality and productivity.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, SPC, Total Quality Management (TQM), and GMPs is highly preferred.
