Reports to: Supply Chain Director
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience: Three years' leadership experience preferred; hospital/medical terminology experience preferred
Position Summary
The OR Materials Manager (ORMM) leads and manages supply chain activities within the operating room and surgical services. This role supports OR operations through effective inventory management, strong vendor relationships, and close collaboration with clinical surgical services. The ORMM works with the OR Internal Control Coordinator (ORICC) and Division Director of OR (DDOR) to ensure data integrity, optimize preference card processes, manage patient billing accuracy, and support clinical resource initiatives for margin improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Supply Management

Ensure item accuracy in the Materials Management Information System (MMIS).

Oversee ordering, restocking, and replenishment processes for all OR supply areas.

Manage consignment, bulk inventory, specialty items, and implants.

Track and manage tissue inventory via Tissue Tracker, including vendor certifications, recalls, and quarterly verifications.

Monitor and manage supply expiration dates.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

Maintain strong vendor relationships, enforcing supply chain policies and procedures.

Serve as primary OR contact for sales representatives.

Collaborate with surgical services leadership, Clinical Resource Directors (CRD), supply chain staff, and corporate teams on cost management and process improvement projects.
Operational Excellence

Schedule OR supply chain operations to meet clinical needs.

Support case picking and specialty procurement processes.

Manage OR Meditech Supply Inventory and preference card updates when ORICC is absent.

Identify and implement opportunities to optimize processes and reduce non-value-added activities.
Compliance & Authorization

Authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media, and drug-containing devices as applicable.

Ensure adherence to facility policies, "Code of Conduct,” and "Mission and Value Statement.”
