Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk
Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Inventory Control Clerk helps maintain accurate inventory levels and product quality by performing essential clerical functions. This includes compiling and retaining records, updating computer systems, and preparing requisitions. The role supports inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction by delivering timely and precise records of inventory and adjustments. The clerk also performs essential functions related to returns and refusals.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily inventory counts and audits; document results with accuracy and detail.

Research transactions and inventory exceptions to determine root causes and implement resolutions.

Request, prepare, compile, and retain reports and records in both printed and electronic formats.

Identify products in the inventory database and verify product code dates.

Perform full range of inventory reclassification and transfer functions.

Evaluate, verify, and process returned products from drivers.

Reconcile route documents, invoices, and related records.

Process debit and credit adjustments with appropriate reason codes.

Complete clerical tasks and audits to support warehouse logistics operations.

Move and stage pallet loads using material handling equipment.

Adhere to company safety protocols, proper product handling, and food safety standards.

Maintain accurate time and attendance records.

Comply with Division Attendance Policy.

Work in multiple environments, including office, ambient, refrigerated, and frozen areas.
Education & Training:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements:

1–3 years of experience in Inventory Control or clerical roles within a distribution center.

HACCP experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based inventory systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Solid math and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Ability to resolve routine issues and analyze complex situations.

Capable of prioritizing tasks and working independently with minimal supervision.

Effective team player with cross-departmental collaboration capabilities.

Certified or able to become certified to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g., pallet jack, stock picker).
