Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager II is responsible for independently planning, executing, and managing multiple, complex medium-to-large-scale projects that span across various teams, departments, service centers, and client locations. This role serves as a single point of accountability for project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget using Parallon's established project controls and standards.

This position requires advanced leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to proactively engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and drive successful project outcomes. The Senior Project Manager II must be capable of managing project teams and mentoring junior project staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison with Parallon, Service Centers, Divisions, Corporate, Facilities, and other client stakeholders.

  • Author and facilitate strategic project documents including charters, communication plans, detailed project plans, and executive updates.

  • Break down project activities into actionable workstreams and allocate tasks effectively to team members.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies; report status in alignment with scheduled updates.

  • Ensure deliverables are completed on time and aligned with quality and technical requirements.

  • Mentor junior project managers and team members in best practices and project management controls.

  • Facilitate stakeholder decision-making and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Create implementation materials such as toolkits, timelines, and migration documentation.

  • Oversee project planning, staffing, budget tracking, vendor coordination, and subcontract management.

  • Maintain project performance in terms of technical quality, reliability, timeliness, and cost.

  • Resolve both technical and operational issues across the project lifecycle.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Project Management Expertise:

  • Proficient in applying project controls, managing scope, timelines, and resources across diverse workstreams.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities.

  • Skilled at identifying critical paths, project bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Effective communicator with the ability to gain commitment and drive alignment across stakeholders.

  • Capable of facilitating discussions, managing expectations, and building consensus at all levels.

Execution & Financial Acumen:

  • Adept at tactical execution using project governance standards.

  • Skilled in budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis.

Facilitation & Team Management:

  • Experienced in leading small to medium-sized groups through planning and problem-solving sessions.

  • Able to mentor project staff and integrate team member contributions into cohesive deliverables.

Methodologies & Tools:

  • Familiar with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project methodologies.

  • Proficiency in tools including:

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio, OneNote, OneDrive)

    • Project Scheduling Tools: Microsoft Project, MS Planner, Office Timeline

    • Collaboration Platforms: WebEx, WebEx Teams, other online facilitation tools
