Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Shipping and Receiving Manager to join our production team. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in managing the flow of steel materials and finished products in and out of our facility. The ideal candidate will come from a structural steel, plate work, or fabrication background and understand the physical and operational demands of working in a steel production environment. *This is NOT a "Pick & Pack" Warehouse Position, nor is it a desk job!
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments using forklifts or cranes as needed
  • Verify incoming materials and match against purchase orders or packing lists
  • Organize and manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods
  • Prepare materials for outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation
  • Coordinate deliveries and pickups with drivers and logistics providers
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure material availability and accuracy
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving within a structural steel or plate fabrication environment is required
  • Must be comfortable working in a hands-on, physical role – this is not a desk job
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, and material specifications
  • Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be reliable and able to work independently
