Position Overview:
Seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to take the lead on customer-driven projects from concept through production. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project leadership, and client interaction. The ideal candidate will drive engineering efforts, support prototype development, and ensure final designs meet functional and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate customer requirements, proposals, and technical data to determine feasibility and practical application of designs.

Lead engineering activities throughout all phases of product development, including design reviews, prototyping, and production support.

Serve as a primary point of contact for customers; travel to customer locations as needed.

Perform engineering calculations and create or review specifications for materials and equipment.

Approve drawings, documentation changes, and support engineering change processes.

Oversee project timelines and address issues to ensure milestones are met.

Collaborate with designers and drafters to produce and refine technical drawings.

Make independent decisions on engineering methods and present solutions in internal or external meetings.

May supervise or coordinate tasks with technical support staff or shop personnel.

Participate in quality and environmental systems, supporting continuous improvement and compliance initiatives.

May receive training to perform internal audits aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Supervisory Duties:

May oversee the activities of personnel in a prototype or model shop setting.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

At least 2–4 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering role.

Prior exposure to customer-facing technical roles is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Able to thrive under deadline pressure and adapt to evolving project needs.

Comfortable interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and process control documentation.

Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) and familiarity with quality and environmental compliance systems.
