Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchasing activities for raw materials and finished goods, including flat/rolled steel and electrical components.

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight agreements, and vendor contracts.

  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; monitor vendor performance for on-time delivery and quality.

  • Analyze inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal safety stock.

  • Perform quarterly safety stock reviews and propose adjustments to management.

  • Drive cost-saving strategies and mitigate supplier price increases.

  • Source components for high-priority projects and support new product development initiatives.

  • Provide purchasing support for Engineering and Project Management teams during bid processes.

  • Ensure ERP data integrity for items, vendors, and purchasing records.

  • Support continuous process improvements within the Supply Chain function.

  • Act as a backup for other team members and provide general support to the department as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience purchasing steel and electrical components is a plus.

  • Proficiency in MRP, safety stock modeling, and demand forecasting.

  • ERP system experience is required; experience with Visual ERP is highly preferred.

  • APICS, ISM, Lean, or Six Sigma certifications are a plus.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong technical understanding of product specifications and sourcing processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Power BI experience is a plus.

  • Must be highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.


Pay:

$33 - $42 / hour Contract role.
