Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Controller
Supervises: None
FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Flexibility required for month-end close and special projects)


Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing core accounting functions to support the daily operations of the Accounting Department. Key responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and assisting with ad hoc projects assigned by the CFO, Controller, or Assistant Controller. The role requires a high level of accuracy, independence, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general ledger accounting activities

  • Perform monthly closing procedures and journal entries

  • Prepare and review month-end account reconciliations

  • Support daily operations of the Accounting Department

  • Collaborate with leadership on special projects as assigned

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field (required)

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of GAAP

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrate core accounting competencies per organizational standards

  • Meet annual performance goals as outlined in the Performance Management Plan
