Cost Accounting Finance Manager

Our client is seeking a Cost Accounting Finance Manager to lead key finance and accounting operations within a global manufacturing setting. This position will oversee cost accounting activities and finance service teams, ensuring effective support of business goals. Primary responsibilities include maintaining accurate standard costs, inventory valuation, reserve analysis, and inventory-related compliance. The ideal candidate will provide insightful financial reporting and analysis while ensuring alignment with corporate policies and internal controls.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage global standard cost processes across manufacturing operations, ensuring control and accuracy through effective team oversight.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth, analyze results, and communicate findings to leadership on a monthly basis.

  • Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing talent in alignment with the company's people-first leadership principles.

  • Guide optimal capital planning and allocation decisions, including oversight of cost-benefit analyses, budget development, and forecasting.

  • Assist with "make vs. buy” evaluations and support capital project planning and approvals.

  • Partner with internal leaders to drive profitability through pricing strategies and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Oversee close processes for various business segments, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial packages, ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and controls.

  • Manage systems and procedures within the finance function, ensuring SOX documentation reflects process changes and new internal control measures.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts using structured improvement methodologies and review team outputs for quality and accuracy.

  • Participate in company-wide initiatives to establish standard practices and achieve key business outcomes.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing accounting or finance.

  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management capacity.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on cost accounting experience within a manufacturing setting.

  • 2–4 years of proven leadership in a fast-paced, global environment.

  • Strong grasp of financial regulations (GAAP and international standards).

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
