Nesco Resource is searching for an experienced MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to work with an established manufacturer in the Rochester area.

 

Job Summary

 

 The Maintenance Technician performs all tasks necessary to plan, construct, alter, and repair a wide variety of manufacturing machines and building or utility equipment. The Maintenance Technician will also interact with sub-suppliers in case the jobs cannot be done at the company. He or she maintains a high level of accuracy in the tasks performed, in a clean and efficient manner. The Maintenance Technician is an in-house resource for all matters related to the industrial equipment throughout the company.

 

Essential Functions

 

§  5 years of maintaining and repairing Plastic Injection Molding Machines is required.

§  Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on manufacturing machines, engines, motors, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment, conveyor systems and more, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineer specs.

§  Has the authority to shut down equipment if employee safety or the quality of product is not guaranteed.

§  Handles maintenance work orders in 4D.

§  Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations, listening for problems, using precision measuring, and testing instruments whenever necessary.

§  Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools, examining form and texture of parts.

§  Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

§  Follows maintenance plans, OSHA safety rules and regulations and corporate best practices.

§  Develops new recommendations and maintenance plans for new equipment.

§  Controls downtime by informing production workers and technicians of necessary Level I maintenance routines, monitoring compliance.

§  Whenever possible, fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

§  Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies, placing and expediting order requests through the Purchasing Department and verifying receipts.

§  Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

§  Provides building maintenance support by answering questions and requests from other departments.

§  Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

§  Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions and lessons learned to capitalize on team findings and experience.

§  Checks all start up paperwork to ensure machines are released to the manufacturing department.

§  Assists Process Technicians with process start-ups or other technical subjects when necessary.

§  Participates and coordinates real time root cause analysis in conjunction with other Team members.

§  Responsible for 5-S by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.

 

Education and Language

•                  Technical Education in skilled trades (mechanics, electrical, hydraulic, etc.)

•                  English (fluent), French is a plus
