Liberty Church Yukon - Worship Leader Description
The name of this church shall be Liberty Church, Yukon, Inc. an Oklahoma not for profit corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Liberty Church”.
The address of the principal office of this church shall be: 450 East Main Street, Yukon, OK 73099
Our Mission at Liberty Church remains unchanged from the marching orders given by the Lord Jesus Christ to His people in all times and places. (Mathew 28:19-20 ; Mark 16:15 ; Luke 24:46-48 ; John 20:21-23 ; Acts 1:8) We are here to make disciples of Jesus by:
· Helping people come to KNOW Him through His forgiveness and love
· Leading them to GROW in that relationship by His people, His work, and His Spirit
· Training them to GO forth to share His love and truth with ever more people
Our Vision puts our mission into our present day and location
· To be faithful to God and His Word
· To apply His truth to situations facing lives, families, and society today
· To build a loving, growing, thriving fellowship of Christ followers who truly love God and love people and exhibit it by serving God and others
· To help each member realize their calling of service within the body of Christ
· To reach more and more people with the good news of Jesus Christ
Church Governance
God's local church is not a corporation; it is His local body of regenerated believers purchased by Him though His sacrifice on the Cross. Though to function in a State, incorporation is often necessary.
For all agenda meeting items brought before the Church Congregation for comments/input, the Church Congregation will have a 15-day comment period. During that comment period if any comments are made to the Leadership Team, those comments will be presented again to the congregation for an additional 15-day period for resolution. Upon the expiration of the 15-day comment period(s), the item shall be deemed approved.
Article IV of this Constitution demands that the Bible is superior to this Constitution in matters of "faith and practice.” To be consistent and compliant with this bedrock doctrine, in all cases, unity or reuniting (in the case of church discipline) is the goal and the Bible is our guidebook. Preferences and opinions cannot nullify the clear teaching of God's Holy Word (Isaiah 5:21) regarding church government.
Thus, the government of Liberty Church is vested in the Leadership Team as set out in Section C of the Bylaws. Beginning December 30, 2018, the Leadership Team, affirmed by vote of the congregation, shall make decisions in conjunction with the Congregation.
Beliefs and Values (Articles of Faith)
On May 15, 2016, our church family voted to take a new name of Liberty Church, Yukon. That name was chosen as our church wanted to honor scripture in 2nd Corinthians … "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” … 2nd Corinthians 3:17.
1. We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter. 1:19-21; Acts 1:16; Acts 28:25; Psa. 119:105, Rev. 22:19; Isa. 8:20; Eph. 6:17; Rom. 15:4; John 5:45-47; John 5:39)
2. We believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
a. God the Father - 1 Corinthians 8:6; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 4:6
b. God the Son - Romans 1:3-4; 3:23-26; 5:6-21; 8:1-3,34; 10:4; Philippians 2:5-11
c. God the Holy Spirit – John 14:15-28; John 15:26
3. We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is truly God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Gen 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; Mark 1:1; John 1:14; Psa. 2:7; Gal. 4:4; I John 5:20; I Cor. 15:47)
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man's salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Gen. 3:1-6, 24; Rom. 5:12, 19; Rom. 3:10-19; Eph. 2:1, 3; Rom. 1:18; Ezek.18:19-20; Rom. 1:20, 28, 32; Gal. 3:22)
5. We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from man's works, and is possessed by any and all who have faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. (Genesis 3:15; John 3:3-21; 2 Timothy 1:12; Titus 2:11-14; James 2:14-26; 1 John 1:6-2:11)
6. We believe in a membership in the Church universal (ekklesia) and, for Liberty Church, persons who have come or who profess to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, repented of their sins, and accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. (Matthew 16:15-19; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:18)
7. We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord's Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means for man's salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith alone. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 10:16,21; 11:23-29; Ephesians 2:8-9)
8. We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His Second Coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell. (Matthew 24:27,30,36,44; 25:31-46; 26:64; Revelation 1:18; 3:11; 20:1-22:13)
9. We believe in the autonomy of the local church. The church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization. (1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:16; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 2:9-14; 3:1-15; 4:14; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 2-3; 21:2-3)
