Manufacturing Technician

Pay: $21 - $24 per hour
Shift: Mon - Thur 6am - 430pm / Fri - Sun 6am - 6:30pm
Location: South Tucson

What You Will Do in This Role:

The manufacturing technician will be tasked with interpreting test logs, diagnosing, and inspecting PDU electrical components to ensure they meet specifications and function correctly. This role involves handling repair and rework of units failing Safety, NMC, or FFT tests, while maintaining equipment and workspace cleanliness. Collaboration with safety, quality, and production teams will focus on identifying and applying process improvements and validations.

Essential Functions:

  • Possess basic or advanced knowledge of assembling Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and other electrical components to company standards.
  • Demonstrate basic or advanced understanding of Safety, NMC, and FFT protocols.
  • Analyze test logs to pinpoint failure modes accurately.
  • Utilize a multimeter voltage tester to check continuity, voltage, and similar metrics.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs using test log data, consulting electrical engineers for complex or recurring issues.
  • Record repair details for traceability and future reference.
  • Complete and submit necessary documents to process defective materials for replacement, sending them to MRB and requesting new components.
  • Deliver prompt feedback to the assembly Lead, Supervisor, or Manager regarding failure modes for immediate correction at the source.
  • Track and document progress on the Hour x Hour Board, meeting hourly and daily targets.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing enhancements to methods and procedures as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to boost quality and monitor personal work for consistency.
  • Maintain the condition and upkeep of repair station equipment, including machinery.
  • Follow directions and assist team members when time allows.
  • Visually check PDUs for scratches, dents, or cosmetic flaws, reporting findings to QC, Assembly Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
  • Maintain focus on tasks with attention to detail, rebuilding PDUs at the required standard rate.

What You Bring:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Comfortable with soldering, crimping, and assembling cables and connectors.
  • Ability to read engineering schematics and build products accordingly.
  • Good coordination, motor skills, and dexterity.
  • Capable of following oral and written instructions for job tasks.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology or a two-year certificate in a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and interpreting test data in a relevant field.
