Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that all precision tooling products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections, documenting results, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and assisting with quality system compliance across the manufacturing process.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined components using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs).
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure parts meet design criteria.
  • Record and report inspection results, maintain quality documentation, and issue nonconformance reports (NCRs) as needed.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Support ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems, including audits and documentation.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and manage inspection tools and equipment to ensure accurate measurement.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production teams to identify quality issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Enforce quality policies, procedures, and work instructions throughout the shop floor.
  • Monitor and track quality metrics to identify trends or recurring issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certificate in manufacturing, machining, or quality preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a precision tooling or machining environment.
  • Proficient in the use of manual and automated measuring equipment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection processes.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with CMM programming and SPC (Statistical Process Control) a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and verbal/written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
  • Use hands to handle small components and operate precision tools.
