Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm M-F
Pay rate - $20. - $23.00hr.
Summary
Shape and smooth acrylic parts of orthodontic appliances, ensuring each piece is comfortable, functional, and meets lab and doctor specifications. Perform detailed tasks ensuring high quality and efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Shape and smooth acrylic parts of basic orthodontic appliances, including trimming, polishing, smoothing, and final details as required
- Use high-speed, handheld finishing tools to smooth, refine, and polish desired form
- Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Record production information and track work progress
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals
- Average 10 – 25 appliances per day
- Ability to work in a stationary, sitting position for several hours at a time
- Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts
- Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and small print for assemblies and identify the appliance that has been crafted
- Ability to use handheld, semi-automatic, and automatic machinery including but not limited to: steam machine, grinding machines, and Dremel tools
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in manufacturing, dental, orthodontic, or medical device production preferred
