Job Summary:
Promote the science of reading and ensure collaboration and coordination among
literacy activities in birth-5years old, K-5, 6-12.
Manage activities required by the Arizona Comprehensive Literacy State
Development (CLSD) grant activities
Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position
Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties:
Coordinate, establish, and maintain meaningful collaboration between the CLSD grant projects and literacy-related efforts across the agency and community partners.
Manage multiple grant activities, grant budget management, compliance, use data to assess and inform literacy programs, and develop technical assistance for schools, Local Education Agencies (LEAs), and early childhood programs.
Provide for dissemination of information, resources in support of the CLSD grant
across multiple channels (e.g., published reports, webinars, site visits, training,
conference presentations), adhering to the U.S Department of Education s
guidelines.
Provide support services, technical assistance, and tools to schools, LEAs, and
early childhood programs participating in the Arizona s CLSD grant.
Maintain ongoing support to Arizona s CLSD grantees and other stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge in:
Adult learning styles
Science of Reading, Evidence based Literacy practices
Fiscal management and budget preparation
Standard accounting principles and procurement
High-quality ECE programming, as well as implementation to provide assistance
to programs with implementing the structural elements of high-quality
programming
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, data and/or finance
field, a related field, or equivalent working experience to substitute for the degree
Minimum two years experience providing professional development, coaching
and/or technical assistance
Skills in:
Public speaking, effective writing, and oral communication
Expertise in best practices for adult learners
Organization, time management, and ability to attend to multiple tasks
Decision making and problem solving skills
Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to:
Identify a goal, create plans to achieve the goal, and ensure appropriate time and
effort are allocated to complete the project
Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
Provide grant technical assistance and/or professional development to grant
programs
Create presentations and present to the public
Competence in research methods, data analysis, assessment and evaluation
Organize others and bring together diverse groups of people
Selective Preferences:
Preference will be given to those applicants with:
Arizona Teaching Certification with a Literacy and or/Reading Endorsement
Experience working with and managing grants
Experience working in programs that support children and families

Required to have a bachelor's degree OR 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates that do not meet this required will be rejected.
Day to Day: 40% processing grants, data entry, knowledge of managing grants and collaborating with other teams. 60% education, working with literacy related efforts.
