General Purpose
This position provides back-office support to our client base, including payroll and billing processes.
Specific Responsibilities
Duties are listed based on the estimated percentage of time. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Verify all data has been entered to process client payroll and billing timely and accurately.
- Provide timely and professional responses to customer inquiries.
- Set up new customers and perform data entry.
- Maintain all customer databases accurately, including client payroll and billing data.
- Update customer folders with changes to reflect the current week's payroll and billing instructions.
- Process credits and rebills.
- Assist clients in developing effective processes for reporting their payroll and billing information accurately and timely as needed.
- Provide repeat training or answer lower-level technical questions regarding software usage of payroll and billing platforms.
- Transmit accounting and payments reports such as wires, ACH, and A/R credits/debits promptly.
- Notify management promptly of problem areas.

Requirements
Consideration may be given to a candidate with a degree in lieu of experience.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field - Preferred
Work Experience
- Comparable work experience - Preferred
- Previous experience in payroll processing - Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using multiple types of software, including MS Office, and basic office equipment.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including payroll, payroll taxes, A/P, A/R, and cash posting.
- Ability to understand relationships of data in multiple databases and good with numbers, particularly reconciling differences.
- Must be detail-oriented, customer-focused, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
