Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator/Programmer to support our Metrology Program. This role involves calibrating Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IMTE), and performing complex inspections and calibrations using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day support for the Metrology Program, including calibration and repair of IMTE.
Inspect fixtures and tooling using CMM equipment.
Calibrate standards and ensure traceability to NIST.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, calibration, and test data.
Develop automated procedures using basic and advanced programming skills.
Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO17025, Z-540, AS9100, and other quality standards.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with HS&E requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to team productivity.
Qualifications:
Strong experience in troubleshooting and calibration of test equipment.
Experience with dimensional calibration tools such as CMMs, gage blocks, calipers, micrometers, thread plug gages, and ring gages.
Proficient in GD&T and automated testing of IM&TE.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Provides oversight into the overall coordinate measuring machines (CMM's) process.
Assist in the development of CMM programs for new products and parts as required.
Revises, updates, and performs troubleshooting of existing CMM programs.
Performs routine maintenance on CMM's and develops recommended PM scheduling for users and customers.
Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results.
Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications.
Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
Utilizes direct measurement methods to verify accuracy of IMT&E.
Measurement system evaluation, such as gauge R&R, correlation studies in support of manufacturing.

Associate degree or equivalent experience, technical training, or certifications.
Skills
Candidate must possess Coordinate Measuring Machine experience/certification.
Preferred: Military PMEL/TMDE/Metrology training.
Familiar with requirements of Y14 GD&T specifications.
Competency with 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX.
Competency with Cal QC, Minitab and GOM software a plus.
Expertise in dimensional calibration is preferred.
Familiarity with Zeiss CMM software
Formal training in CMM use and programing.
