Position Summary
The General Laborer plays a vital role in supporting daily production operations across the plant. This position requires performing a variety of general labor tasks, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and adhering to all safety and quality protocols. A willingness to learn, follow instructions, and maintain a safe, organized work environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and safety regulations.

Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.

Load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or with mechanical assistance.

Transfer raw materials and finished products throughout the plant and warehouse using hand trucks or similar equipment.
-
Deliver items to appropriate work areas for processing or storage.
-
Stack processed items in designated warehouse areas and pack products into containers.
-
Monitor product quality throughout the production process and report any non-conformities to the supervisor.

Participate in cross-training for multiple line positions within the plant.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
-
Perform routine tasks such as greasing, adjusting, or cleaning production line components as part of an Autonomous Maintenance Program.

Support achievement of safety and production targets as defined by supervisors and management.

Attend safety meetings and participate in safety audits.
-
Perform other general labor tasks as needed to meet production requirements.

Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Experience and Skills Requirements
-
Ability to follow safety, quality, security, and operational policies and procedures.
-
Strong attention to detail.
-
Forklift experience preferred.
-
Ability to multitask and monitor multiple processes simultaneously.

Familiarity with SOPs and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Previous experience in chemical or light chemical manufacturing preferred.

Basic math skills and the ability to apply them in a production environment.

Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities.

Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations through written or verbal assessment post-training.

Ability to read and follow facility signage and instructions.

Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and hazard communication standards.

Familiarity with operator manuals and standard operating procedures for safe equipment use.
Additional Qualifications
-
Ability to work in confined spaces as needed, following proper safety training and protocols.

May be assigned to clean mix tanks using air tools, shovels, or other equipment on a rotating schedule.
Working Conditions

Must have 20/20 vision or corrected vision.

Must possess strong communication skills.

Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, and kneeling.

Must be capable of performing repetitive, strenuous work in various climate conditions.

Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs safely.

Ability to stand for extended periods is required.

Must be comfortable working in a plant environment with fluctuating temperatures and physical demands.
