Job Description
We are seeking two Enterprise Architects to support the architecture and governance programs within the Digital Modernization’s Office of Enterprise Architecture. This is a full-time, hybrid position primarily based at home with occasional onsite work at one of the three main locations: Hyattsville, MD, Washington, DC, and Alexandria, VA.
What You'll Do
Align broader strategic vision around business needs, resulting in technology roadmaps
Conduct business capabilities mapping and cataloging business processes
Collaborate with business units and application development staff to define architectural constraints
Define and maintain architectural frameworks, processes, standards, and guidelines for the Digital Ecosystem
Provide technical and architectural expertise, developing decision-making frameworks for project teams
Establish governance best-practices for technology lifecycle implementation
Support data governance programs, including policy development and role definition
Facilitate technology change management programs and support enterprise technology initiatives
Create and assess performance metrics for architecture and governance effectiveness
Document work thoroughly according to best practices and client standards
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Seven years of experience in technology systems engineering, management, or architecture
Two years of experience in enterprise architecture or IT/data governance
Experience with large technology enterprises and recognized enterprise architecture frameworks
Experience with cloud services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Azure
Familiarity with data management technologies and modern software/cloud technologies
Proficiency in MS Office suite and technology visualization software
Strong visual communication skills, including technical schematics and architecture diagrams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts
Ability to switch between strategic and detailed perspectives
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
